Fort Worth & Rio Grande Railway Company Stock Certificate

Description
The Fort Worth & Rio Grande Railway was chartered in 1885 in order to construct a line between Forth Worth and Brownwood, TX – a distance of 127 miles. The line was part of a plan to build a transcontinental railroad through Texas, from New York to Mexico. Fort Worth businessmen also believed the Fort Worth and Rio Grande would strengthen the local economy by bringing foreign trade, the Southwest Texas livestock business, and additional service and distribution facilities to Fort Worth. However… the company faced many challenges. Construction was slow, and the route was changed many times. In 1892 the company owned ten locomotives, ninety-nine freight cars, and nine passenger cars – and it did indeed contribute to the development of Southwest Texas. The original Fort Worth & Rio Grande Railway company lasted a short time (just a little over ten years) and was purchased in 1937 by the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company.

Generally, the shipping cost of a full scale flag runs between $45–$75. Most other framed items, including collector size flags and map replicas can be shipped for about $35.
Within Texas…
As often as possible within Texas we try to deliver your order on our truck. This is especially true if you are getting several items at once.
We usually visit Houston, Dallas and San Antonio every couple of weeks, and special deliveries can be arranged as needed. It is our pleasure to try and personally deliver within Texas when possible.
